Are you ready for some great Classical Guitar Tab?
This will undoubtedly be the largest section of this site as I plan on making a lot of music available for you for your Classical Guitar Tab. The music will be presented in both Standard Notation and in Tablature or TAB for short. While Standard Notation is the standard by which most Classical Guitarists play and learn their pieces, I feel that the TAB staff will aid in training for the beginner and intermediate player alike.
If you are unfamiliar with TAB, I will devote a few articles as to the proper interpretation of this unique transcription style. Also, if you feel like you want to be completely ‘pure’ in your Classical Guitar training, feel free to ignore the TAB portion of the score and concentrate only on the standard notation.
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t play the Standard Notation, as well you should. You can use the TAB as a training aid, a manner to pick up the song and commit it to memory much quicker and this will keep your excitement level high and you will not feel so overwhelmed at times.
Classical Guitar Tab vs. Standard Notation:
You will find the scores that are provided here to be of the highest quality and you can certainly compare them very favorably to music you will find in many Classical Guitar workbooks and compositions that are currently available, both in sheet music and onlne.
Most of the music that are presented here will show the Proper Left Hand Fingering beside the note heads, and the Proper Right Hand Fingering will be shown below the standard notation staff and above the Classical Guitar TAB staff. Also you will be given many pointers to playing the piece and guidance to help you play it properly and effectively.
Tablature or TAB Notation:
The Tablature which is call TAB for short, will be located directly beneath the Standard Notation staff and will correlate to it perfectly. The difference that Classical Guitar Tab presents is the notes are shown graphically on 6 different lines, each representing a string of the guitar. The highest line is the first string and the lowest line is the 6th string. The numbers shown on the staff represent the fret number to be played. For the exact timing of the passage you will need to refer the the Standard Notation located directly above the TAB.
TAB is a great way to get jump started on a piece and if you are familiar with it, you will love the professional manner with which we have presented our TAB.
